Card Fail & A Challenge

Cards, Sketch Challenge
Over the weekend, I found some time to work on the
CAS(E) This Sketch challenge for this week and, after much trial and error,
this little beauty of a card came to life.
The CAS(E) This Sketch Challenge this week was clean and simple…

and, the minute I saw it, I knew exactly what I wanted to do.

Last week I watched a tutorial using
Copic Markers for a watercolor-like finish and I knew this was the perfect sketch to give it a try.

I pulled out my markers,
grabbed up the other supplies I needed, and set to work.
This was going to be quick and easy.
So I thought…

I love the water color technique
and how the Copic colors remain bold and vibrant
but, no matter what I tried or how I dressed it up,
I couldn’t make my original idea work for me.
The end result was…can you see it?
A happy, smiling… pickle.
Major card FAIL!

But then,
in the middle of a crafty mess leftover from another project,
I noticed my new jar of Embossing Paste,
 a little heart stencil,
and a new stamp set from Simon Says Stamp.
Voila!

In the end,
I truly love how this card turned out and enjoyed working with a few new techniques.

May your day today be blessed and full of inspiration!

Call me crazy, but I like the "pickle". But then, I'm from Florida, and that's what it reminded me of. LOL.

Thank you, Leigh. No matter how I looked at it, flipped it around, squinted my eyes, I just kept coming back to "pickle". Funny thing… after I finished, I had a craving for pickles. 🙂

Yes, I've had a couple card fails just like that. It looked so good in my head but I just couldn't make it work. The new card though is divine – love the colors and the texture.
